The adjustment period
Commonly, your prescription glasses will take about a few days to 6 weeks for your eyes to adjust. If this amount of time has been well passed and your eyes are still not adjusted and you are experiencing symptoms, then your prescription could be wrong.
If you experience symptoms
If you are experiencing headaches, blurred vision, dizziness, or eye strain with your prescription, then it could be a sign that your prescription is wrong and needs to be altered. Your prescription glasses should help improve your vision and not hinder it by giving you these symptoms.
Your eyes can change as you get older
You may be finding that as you age, your vision begins to change and what used to work as your prescription glasses is no longer as effective. If this is the case for you, then you can schedule an appointment with your optometrist to have your prescription adjusted.
Just remember that the effects of wearing the wrong prescription glasses can vary from person to person. Keep track of your symptoms so that you can relay that information to your optometrist so they can replace the wrong prescription glasses with the correct ones. Wit is also recommended to note how long you’ve had the symptoms and specific times of the day that they occur to pinpoint what could be happening with your eyes.
